St. Andrews Golf Club was established in 1891, and is recognized as one of the oldest golf clubs in the Western Hemisphere. This strategically designed Championship Golf Course has proven to be a stern test for golfers of all abilities. Its narrow fairways, contoured greens and mature tropical trees all strategically positioned present a challenging yet enjoyable golfing experience. St. Andrews Golf Course is a par 72 stretching as far as 6,555 yards from the back tee box and 5,375 yards from the front tee box. Although not particularly long the course requires precise and accurate golf shots. You must position your ball in the right places in order to score well.  Risk and reward is the best known phrase for this championship golf course. The more you choose to cut the corners the greater the reward although the greater the risk of getting in to trouble.

Golfers of all abilities enjoy playing at St. Andrews Golf Club. There are no forced carries off the tee box and the greens are very receptive to approach shots. The course is challenging yet playable for those of higher handicaps.

St. Andrews Golf Club is located in the Moka Valley, where mountains surround the golf course. The mature trees and elevation changes provide golfers with beautiful views of this hidden gem. The land surrounding the back nine holes are protected, ensuring the wildlife and natural rain forest are preserved.

St. Andrews Golf Club is home of Stephen Ames, PGA tour player. Stephen Ames, grew up playing golf at St. Andrews Golf Club and to date is the only player from the Caribbean to hold a card on the PGA tour. In 1998, Stephen Ames became St. Andrews Golf Club’s golf course record holder shooting a score of 64, 8 under par.

Local celebrities Brian Lara (World Famous Cricket Batsman) and Dwight Yorke (former Manchester United football player) are avid golfers here at St. Andrews Golf Club. They are both tremendous athletes and possess single digit handicaps. St. Andrews Golf Club recently hosted The Pearl and Bounty Foundation Charity Golf Tournament where Brian Lara, Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sheringham, and Gordon Greenidge battled against each other in a one day match play tournament. Brian Lara was the winner earning $100,000 to his charity and Dwight Yorke in second place earning $75,000 to his charity. The Match Play tournament had Sports Max the Caribbean’s most popular sports entertainment television network covering the event.
