2008 Carnation Ladies Golf Invitational
The 2008 Carnation Ladies Golf Invitational was played in good weather on January 26-27 at the St Andrews Golf Club in Moka, Maraval. This was the 20th playing of the tournament under the continuing sponsorship of Nestle Trinidad Ltd. Players from Antigua, St Kitts, St Lucia Barbados, Grenada, Suriname, Guyana and friends from the USA gave the tournament an international flavour.
Kelsey Lou Hing won an exciting sudden death on the 2nd play off hole from veteran Pauline Raynor, after Pauline took 3 putts on the 18th hole of the final round to fall back into a tie after regulation play. Martine de Gannes, winner of the Championship flight last year did not play, having gone off to college in the USA.
In the second flight, Emilie Ramsahai, a rapidly improving player from the Chaguaramus Golf Course prevailed over her rivals, while one of our returning visitors from Suriname, Hanka Wolterstoff, took the 3rd flight.
